Downloadable working records

Keep the facts behind a parts request together. These CSV worksheets open in common spreadsheet applications; they record observations and references rather than calculating compatibility or service limits.

Equipment identification

Start before a catalogue lookup. Record machine and component identifiers separately, preserve uncertain characters, and note where each number was found.

Excavator component record

Name the component and its location before narrowing the catalogue. Include a photograph reference and the machine identity.

Rubber track measurement

Keep width, pitch and link count as separate fields, with units and the measurement method. Mark a damaged or uncertain measurement for rechecking.

Roller identification

Record whether the roller is above or below the track run, and keep mounting and dimensional evidence with the machine details.

Diagram-to-order record

Keep the diagram callout, orderable part number, quantity and serial applicability separate. Do not copy a common number prefix in place of the full number.

Download the diagram-to-order worked example. This is a teaching example, not a current purchase recommendation or a substitute for a fresh lookup.

Use the records well

  1. Save a separate copy for the machine or request.
  2. Enter the source for each identifier or measurement, including units where relevant.
  3. Leave unknown fields explicitly unresolved; do not infer serial characters or dimensions from appearance.
  4. Attach the matching catalogue evidence before asking a supplier to confirm an item.
